EXCLUSIVE: Inde Navarrette, Eiza González and Odessa Young in Consideration for ‘Heat 2’
Odessa Young, Inde Navarrette, and Eiza González. The text reads Heat 2

Earlier today, Page Six reported that Inde Navarrette had passed on a role in Michael Mann’s Heat 2. However, we are hearing that the door may not be closed just yet, with sources telling us that Inde Navarrette remains in consideration for the role of Gabriella.

The possibility of Navarrette joining the highly anticipated sequel would make sense given the actress’s previous comments about wanting to work with Mann. Navarrette recently named the acclaimed filmmaker as one of the directors she would most like to collaborate with, making the prospect of her passing on a role in a Mann film—particularly one opposite some of Hollywood’s biggest names—somewhat surprising.

But Navarrette is not the only actress being considered for Heat 2.

We are also hearing that Eiza González is in consideration for the role of Elisa, while Odessa Young is being considered for the role of Charlene, previously played by Ashley Judd. Sources tell us that auditions for the film have already taken place as Mann continues the casting process for the long-awaited follow-up to his 1995 crime classic.

At this stage, no casting decisions are final, and the actresses’ involvement remains subject to change.

The potential additions come as Heat 2 has already assembled a stellar cast. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Chris Shiherlis, the role played by Val Kilmer in the 1995 classic, while Christian Bale is attached to portray Vincent Hanna, the iconic detective originally played by Al Pacino. Stephen Graham is also set to play a young Neil McCauley, the character played by Robert De Niro.

Michael Mann penned the screenplay for Heat 2 based on his 2022 novel of the same name, which he co-wrote with Meg Gardiner. The book serves as both a prequel and sequel to Mann’s 1995 crime classic, expanding the stories of its central characters across multiple timelines. Mann is set to return as director and producer, with Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt also producing alongside him.
