The 2026 Oscars Predictions
Oscars

Every year a flurry of discussion surrounding the illustrious Academy Awards sweeps social media. Who will win Best Actor, Actress, Director and Picture? Days, weeks and months of debate surrounds these Hollywood icons, an opportunity for respected performers to cement their names into history, or for newcomers to blow away expectations and deliver dramatic upsets. 2026 will surely be no different.

Anyone with even a minor online presence will have witnessed Timothée Chalamet’s (Dune: Part One) global awards push for his A24 hit film Marty Supreme, directed by singular Safdie brother, Josh Safdie, following their split. Since the release of Marty Supreme, Chalamet has been touted as a frontrunner to secure this years Best Actor award, which would mark his first win in this category. However, the EE Bafta Award and Actor Awards, formerly SAG Awards, have both struck uncertainty into the hearts of cinephiles, with Robert Aramayo (I, Swear) and Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), respectively, both recently winning. Outside of this, Ryan Coogler’s (Black Panther) Sinners is tipped to fight furiously against Paul Thomas Anderson’s (There Will Be Blood) One Battle After Another, with the pair guaranteed to compete heavily against each other across the night. But don’t forget Netflix’s Frankenstein or KPop Demon Hunters, which have both found significant success on the streaming platform.

Of course, until the Academy Awards announce the winners themselves nothing is off the table. But here at Nexus Point News, I’ve tried my best to predict the Academy Awards 2026 winners…
