A new Andy Samberg stand-up special is in the works at Hulu, sources tell Nexus Point News. The special is expected to tape soon and it will debut on Hulu on Disney+ in spring 2027.
The project will mark Samberg’s first traditional stand-up comedy special. Samberg started as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and his work with the comedy group The Lonely Island alongside Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone became a defining part of SNL during Samberg’s tenure and eventually led to feature films and multiple albums. Samberg returned to SNL for the show’s 50th anniversary special in 2025, appearing alongside the massive group of former cast members and hosts.
Samberg has also previously explored a more stand-up-adjacent format with Andy Samberg & Friends, a comedy showcase featuring Samberg alongside TJ Miller, Kumail Nanjiani, The Lucas Brothers, K. Trevor Wilson and Nathan Fielder. For Hulu, the special would add a major name to a stand-up lineup that has expanded significantly in recent years. The streamer is currently home to specials from comedians including Kumail Nanjiani, Nikki Glaser, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Andrew Santino, among others. Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself is the next on the list for Hulu.
Samberg is best known for Saturday Night Live and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, in which he starred as NYPD detective Jake Peralta. His recent work has also continued to span animation. Samberg voiced Pawbert Lynxley in Zootopia 2 and starred as the titular character in the animated comedy series Digman! Samberg has also continued to work as a writer and producer. He is serving as a writer on the upcoming feature 42.2 Years.
Samberg is repped by United Talent Agency (UTA), ID PR, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
Hulu has not yet announced the special officially, and the spring 2027 premiere date is tentative at this time. Nexus Point News has reached out to Andy Samberg and Hulu for comment.
