The tension in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 2, “Shoot the Moon”, continues to escalate as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) try to stay one step ahead of Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).
In the aftermath of the deadly confrontation with the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, Matt is left questioning why Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) chose to save him. At the same time, Fisk tightens his grip on the city, launching a calculated campaign that turns public attention toward Matt Murdock while the mayor’s forces grow increasingly aggressive on the streets.
Meanwhile, as Fisk’s crackdown intensifies and innocent people begin to suffer the consequences, Matt and Karen realize they may need to take a more direct approach in their fight against the mayor’s operation.
Here’s a full recap of everything that happens in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 2.
Daredevil reflects on Bullseye’s intervention
The episode opens shortly after the violent confrontation from Episode 1. Daredevil stands on a rooftop watching paramedics remove the bodies of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force agents killed during the attack.
Still holding the knife Bullseye threw into the room — the one carved with the words “You’re welcome” — Matt tries to understand why Benjamin Poindexter intervened. Bullseye had a clear shot at him but chose instead to eliminate the Task Force agents.
Later, Poindexter appears inside a church asking for Sister Maggie, only to learn she is currently in Rome. Claiming he needs absolution for the betrayals he has committed, he speaks with a church worker who explains he cannot formally hear confession yet. Poindexter seems unconcerned, revealing a quiet menace that suggests he may have darker intentions.
Fisk realizes Bullseye has returned
Elsewhere, Wilson Fisk learns about the disaster involving the Task Force agents in Hell’s Kitchen. Four officers are confirmed dead, and Daredevil escaped the confrontation. However, the detail that catches Fisk’s attention is the presence of someone with exceptional aim. He immediately realizes who that must be: Benjamin Poindexter.
The news triggers a violent outburst from Fisk, who vents his rage during a training session by brutally attacking his sparring partner. Despite the threat Poindexter poses, Fisk refuses to reveal Daredevil’s secret identity as Matt Murdock. He believes exposing it would weaken the political narrative he is building. To the public, Daredevil must remain a dangerous vigilante — not a blind lawyer who once saved the mayor’s life.

Matt and Karen track Fisk’s weapons operation
While Fisk consolidates power, Matt and Karen regroup at their hideout. With Cherry hospitalized after suffering a heart attack during the Task Force raid, they realize Fisk’s crackdown is escalating.Their next lead involves the first mate of the Northern Star cargo ship. If they can locate her, she might help prove that Fisk was smuggling weapons through the port.
Matt and Karen begin surveilling Fisk’s shipping operations at the docks. At first, the cargo appears harmless, containing items like diapers instead of weapons. But Matt knows Fisk’s operation is more complicated than it seems. If the weapons are moved into Red Hook, they could disappear completely. Realizing the opportunity may be slipping away, Matt concludes he may have to infiltrate the port himself — even if it means walking straight into Fisk’s territory.
The campaign to “find” Matt Murdock
In a recorded public message, Fisk announces that Matt Murdock survived Bullseye’s earlier assassination attempt and praises him as a hero who saved his life. He then calls on New Yorkers to help locate Matt, claiming concern for his safety.
The move is strategically brilliant. By separating Matt Murdock from Daredevil in the public eye, Fisk effectively turns the entire city into a search party — with supporters of vigilantes looking for Matt while opponents hunt Daredevil.
Meanwhile, inside City Hall, tensions grow as Deputy Mayor of Communications Daniel Blake investigates a mysterious online account mocking Fisk while leaking insider information from the mayor’s office.
The Anti-Vigilante Task Force terrorizes the city
Meanwhile, Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force grows increasingly aggressive. In one incident, officers violently intervene in a dispute at a convenience store and arrest multiple people, including Angela del Toro’s aunt, who tries to defend a group of teenagers. The arrest sparks outrage from bystanders and highlights how unchecked the Task Force has become.
Elsewhere, Angela — niece of Hector, the late White Tiger — seeks help from Kirsten McDuffie, fearing her aunt may disappear in the system like many others targeted by Fisk’s forces. The moment reinforces how deeply Fisk’s policies are affecting ordinary citizens throughout the city.

Daredevil rescues Josie as Karen captures a Task Force agent
Late in the episode, Matt and Karen spend a quiet moment at Josie’s, the bar that once served as a gathering place for them and their late friend Foggy Nelson.
Later that night, while resting nearby, Matt suddenly hears something alarming through his heightened senses. From several blocks away, he recognizes the sounds of Anti-Vigilante Task Force officers arriving at Josie’s home.
Realizing she’s in danger, Matt quickly suits up and rushes to the scene as Daredevil. Inside the building, Task Force agents have already detained Josie. Daredevil storms in and fights the officers in a brutal close-quarters confrontation, taking them down before freeing her.
Outside, Karen encounters one of the agents and manages to overpower him herself. When Matt finds her afterward, she reveals what she was doing while he was fighting inside. Karen has captured one of the Task Force officers.
The episode ends with the agent tied to a chair in their hideout, a hood covering his head. With Fisk’s forces hunting them across the city, Karen suggests that it may be time to stop running. “Maybe it’s time we started hunting them,” she says.
