Tensions rise in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 4, “Gloves Off,” as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) navigate an increasingly dangerous city under the control of Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) unleashes a precise and deadly attack on the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, while Matt and Karen work to investigate the chaos and gather critical evidence. At the same time, Fisk’s public campaign culminates in a high-profile boxing match at Fogwell’s Gym, which spirals into chaos with dangerous and violent consequences.

Here’s a full recap of everything that happens in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 4.

Bullseye attacks the Task Force

The episode opens with Benjamin Poindexter going through a quiet routine in his apartment, cooking, cleaning, and exercising. He briefly interacts with an elderly neighbor, who calls him “Tony.” Dex then goes to a diner and orders a banana milkshake. While observing the space, he calls the Anti-Vigilante Task Force hotline and falsely reports that Frank Castle is inside the restaurant.

Agents quickly arrive and begin securing the area, ordering civilians to raise their hands. One of the agents approaches Dex, telling him to stand and turn around. The agent seems to recognize him, but Dex acts first — using a straw to launch a toothpick directly into the agent’s face. From there, he attacks the Task Force officers using utensils from the counter, killing multiple agents in a highly controlled and precise sequence.

During the chaos, Dex briefly interacts with a man sitting nearby with a small dog, making a comment about animals in restaurants before continuing the attack. When one of the injured agents tries to warn others over the radio, Dex silences him. Before leaving, Dex uses sauce to draw a pattern of circles within circles on the diner’s wall, then walks away calmly.

Matt and Karen build their case against Fisk

Elsewhere, Karen films a testimony from Soledad Ayala, who confirms she was arrested by the Task Force and identifies herself as one of the “missing.” Jack Duquesne prepares to leave, telling Matt he needs to disappear after months in captivity. Before leaving, he gives Karen access to financial resources to support their efforts.

While they are still regrouping, a man named Christofi Savva arrives, identifying himself as the first mate of the Northern Star. He explains that the ship was transporting illegal weapons and operating under protection tied to someone referred to as “the kingpin.” He confirms that the operation bypassed normal regulations and inspections. Recognizing the importance of his testimony, Matt and Karen decide to involve Kirsten McDuffie to formalize his statement legally.

At the same time, Angela Del Toro steps up, insisting on helping them. Karen entrusts her with a crucial SD card containing Task Force data. Angela then passes the SD to a trusted contact at a food truck, asking him to deliver it safely. Later that night, outside the boxing event at Fogwell’s Gym, the contact approaches journalist BB while she waits in line. Pretending to ask for a photo, he discreetly slips the SD card into her pocket, ensuring the evidence reaches the press without drawing attention.

Fisk faces pressure on multiple fronts

At the same time, Fisk is dealing with increasing pressure. Charles confronts him about the compromised situation at Red Hook, questioning his ability to deliver weapons as promised. The conversation becomes tense, with both sides asserting control over the operation. Fisk insists that the shipment will proceed on his terms and refuses to be threatened.

Meanwhile, Vanessa meets with Governor McCaffrey. During their conversation, the governor makes it clear she does not trust Fisk’s use of power, but she is open to supporting him if stability is maintained.

Vanessa reassures her, positioning herself as someone capable of influencing Fisk and keeping his actions in check. By the end of the meeting, the governor indicates she is willing to back both Fisk and Vanessa — for now.

Matt tracks Bullseye

Matt investigates the diner attack, posing as a Task Force officer to access the crime scene. There, he finds a religious token, which leads him to a church from his past. Speaking to a seminarian, Matt learns that a man matching Dex’s description had recently been there. The seminarian reveals that the man said he wakes up every morning to the sound of the church bells and watches him open the doors for morning mass from his window — giving Matt enough to identify that Dex is living nearby, within sight of the church. Using this information, Matt tracks Dex to his apartment.

When Matt arrives, Dex immediately senses something is wrong and attacks. The two engage in a fight inside the apartment. During the confrontation, Bullseye claims he is trying to fix things and suggests that killing Fisk would balance the scales. He references past events involving Matt’s friend, Foggy, escalating the tension.

The situation becomes more dangerous when Dex takes his elderly neighbor hostage at gunpoint. Matt tries to de-escalate, insisting he will not let Dex carry out his plan. Dex ultimately escapes by throwing objects to create an opening, stealing a motorcycle, and fleeing before Matt can stop him.

The fight at Fogwell’s becomes a trap

The episode builds toward a public boxing match at Fogwell’s Gym, organized as part of Fisk’s “Born Again” campaign. The event doubles as a trap — not just for Daredevil, but specifically for Bullseye.

As the fight begins, Task Force agents secure the entire area, with officers positioned inside and around the venue. Meanwhile, Christofi is placed under U.S. Marshals protection to be transported to safety — but the plan collapses when Buck intercepts the convoy and shoots him, eliminating the key witness before he can expose Fisk’s operation.

Back at the gym, Fisk dominates the fight and brutally knocks out his opponent, turning the match into a public display of power. The moment is violently interrupted when Bullseye launches a sudden attack. He throws sharp objects, hitting multiple Task Force agents and causing panic in the crowd. People scream and scramble to escape as Bullseye hurls a replica of the city toward Vanessa. She reacts quickly, drawing a gun and firing back, while Fisk deflects the flying object with his championship belt to protect her.

Two agents step in front of Fisk with their weapons, but Bullseye continues his precise assault, knocking them down with thrown objects. Fisk grabs a gun and aims at Bullseye, but Daredevil intervenes, striking the weapon from his hands. A fight ensues between Daredevil and Bullseye — Daredevil uses his baton to strike him, grabs him, and both crash through a large window.

Bullseye gets up and flees down the street, with Daredevil following, leaving the agents to survey the wreckage — neither of them is in sight. The episode ends in chaos: Vanessa lies on the floor, blood trickling from a shard of glass in her temple, as Fisk shouts desperately for someone to call an ambulance.
