It is the week that Marvel Rivals fans all wait for. To discover what the next season of Marvel Rivals has to offer with its new hero and many additions. For the first time, NetEase have decided to reveal the upcoming news through a livestream and Season 9 is unlike anything they’ve achieved in the past. Not only is it an upgrade for the game but it’s also a sign of what’s to come in Marvel Rivals’ future.
Joining the Marvel Rivals’ roster as their 52nd character is Jubilee, the sparkly X-Man who will be added to the game as their next strategist.

Jubilee (Strategist) – Jubilee is a strategist, a lively manipulator of fireworks who can control vibrant energy plasmoids in combat to heal her teammates while simultaneously damaging and blinding enemies. And for the grand finale, her ultimate ability unleashes a lethal, dazzling firework show across the battlefield!
Jubilee already sounds like a character that’s going to be shifting the battlefield and bringing the party with her wherever she goes. With the ability to heal teammates while simultaneously damaging enemies, which sounds similar to Invisible Woman’s base attack. With her fireworks, Jubilee will also be blinding enemies, following in the steps of Daredevil. Jubilee’s ultimate will be providing a trifecta with it healing, damaging and blinding nearby enemies while also providing a knockback allowing you to take your enemies off the map, and expanding the radius also allows you to launch struck enemies up. Jubilee will be voiced by Courtney Lin.

On July 10th, three skins will be hitting the store, which include Jubilee’s launch skin, “Midnight Mutant,” which is inspired by her look in X-Men (2010) #3 and will be epic rarity. Rogue has gotten a new original legendary skin as part of the Corporate Raiders skin line called Raidar Prime”. The final skin releasing is Wolverine’s “Bloodless Berserker,” which is an epic skin and an original look from NetEase for the game.
Joining Jubilee in August when Season 9.5 lands will be The Hood, who was also teased recently alongside Jubilee in the “A Murder Foretold” gallery page that was available to unlock during Season 8.5.
For the first time in Marvel Rivals history, Season 9 will introduce an enormous new update as a major game mechanic receives a “systemic, full-roster, ground-up rework.” This begins with the Team-Up system receiving an upgrade. Every single hero in the game will now possess two completely independent Team-Up ability loadouts, and each loadout will feature a ‘Base Effect’ and an ‘Enhanced Effect’. This season will also see the return of classic Team-Up’s such as Metallic Chaos. As an example, Devil Dinosaur’s loadout with Punisher gives him the Base Effect which gives him the ability to use guns to shoot his enemies; with Punisher on the team, it’s upgraded, and Punisher is able to ride him.
With this major Team-Up system getting a revamp, that pushes out balance changes to over 80% of characters. A passive health regen has been given to high-mobility users, which will be represented in green and will regenerate when out of action for 5 solid seconds. Both percentage-based healing and percentage-based damage will treat regenerative shields as regular health. Ultimate ability recharge has also been nerfed as testing showed matches ending too quickly and ults being used too often. This will also see the removal of Team-Up anchor buffs, and instead, they have balanced each respective character to match this change.
In addition, Black Widow, a character that has received a lot of complaints about her outdated kit, is finally getting a major rework to her full combat loop, which is going to deliver an all-new experience and will have the character fit and ready to usher her into a new glorious era.
Firstly, Black Widow’s ADS has been removed from her primary, and her fire rate has been increased with her weapon. Her original ultimate has been switched to a secondary fire which can be used to quickly slow down enemies. Her new ultimate now brings the return of her ADS which is time-based or ends when you’ve used up all 6 bullets. When using the ultimate, non-critical damage has been increased, the hitbox has drastically been enlarged, and the bullets now pierce. Widow fans will be happy as stamina restrictions on both her sprint and super jump have been removed, and they’ve added a new ability which allows her to slam down for AoE damage when airborne.
With this new season, a brand-new Convoy map, Thebes, will officially go live following the July 23rd update, and players can expect a return to the Path to Doomsday with an exciting new game mode titled Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will take players straight into Avengers Tower and Ultron’s Data Space to battle Ultron and his mechanical army. This new game mode will release beginning July 30th, and at the same time, a series of events will be launching in the Times Square lobby.

As the season trailer highlighted, Apocalypse got slain before he had the chance to create the Corrupted Universe in his vision, which led the heroes to Thebes, where they’ve now found three of their own killed. A seasonal event called “The Resurrection of the Horsemen” will be dropping, where we must figure out who the killer is before they’re able to strike again. Apocalypse is voiced by Terrance Addison.
A battle pass trailer was also released which highlighted Deadpool’s legendary “Dead Mummy” skin, part of the new skin line, Temple Protectors, and Elsa Bloodstone’s “Primal Predator” legendary skin, which is a new addition to the Savage Land skin line. Alongside them, Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man, Namor, Venom, Cloak & Dagger, Rocket Racoon, Mantis, and Ultron will also be receiving skins for this pass which is titled The Faith-Harvesting Engine.
We’ll update the article as more news is revealed!
