Throughout the season, Amerie is harassed by an unknown person. Among the incidents is a dead bird placed in her bag, which intensifies speculation among students about who is behind the attacks.

The mystery is eventually solved when Rowan, a new student who had grown close to Amerie, is revealed to be responsible. Rowan blames Amerie for a traumatic childhood incident involving his younger brother, who died years earlier.
