The final season of Heartbreak High premieres on March 25 on Netflix, bringing viewers back to Hartley High for one last chapter.

In the upcoming season, the senior class is preparing to graduate and take their first steps into adulthood. But when a revenge plan goes wrong, Amerie and her friends are forced to confront their past while trying to keep their secrets buried — before everything they have built falls apart.

Before the story continues, viewers may want to revisit the key events that shaped Season 2. The previous installment ended with shocking revelations, unresolved relationships, and a dramatic school fire that left the future of Hartley High uncertain.

Here is everything to remember before Season 3.

Amerie struggles to repair her reputation

Season 2 begins with Amerie Wadia (Ayesha Madon) still facing backlash from the Incest Map scandal, which exposed the romantic connections between multiple students at Hartley High. Many classmates continue to blame her for revealing their private lives, leaving her socially isolated.

In an attempt to change how people see her, Amerie decides to run for school captain. However, her campaign becomes more complicated when someone begins targeting her with disturbing acts meant to damage her image at school.

The mystery behind the harassment

Throughout the season, Amerie is harassed by an unknown person. Among the incidents is a dead bird placed in her bag, which intensifies speculation among students about who is behind the attacks.

The mystery is eventually solved when Rowan, a new student who had grown close to Amerie, is revealed to be responsible. Rowan blames Amerie for a traumatic childhood incident involving his younger brother, who died years earlier. Believing she played a role in that tragedy, Rowan develops an obsession with confronting her.

The complicated relationship between Amerie and Malakai

Amerie’s connection with Malakai Mitchell (Thomas Weatherall) remains central to the story. Although the two still have feelings for each other, their relationship becomes increasingly unstable.

Malakai begins exploring his feelings for Rowan, which ultimately leads to the end of his relationship with Amerie. By the end of the season, he prepares to leave Australia for Sweden, leaving their relationship unresolved.

Quinni becomes Hartley High’s new captain

Quinni Gallagher-Jones (Chloé Hayden) experiences significant personal growth during the season. She becomes more confident in expressing herself and takes on a larger role in supporting Amerie’s campaign.

When Amerie is unable to deliver an important speech during the election, Quinni steps in and addresses the students herself. After Amerie wins the vote, she ultimately decides to step down and asks Quinni to take the position instead, making Quinni the new school captain.

The fire that destroys Hartley High

The season ends with a major crisis when Timothy Voss, a controversial sports teacher who had been fired earlier, returns to the school and deliberately starts a fire on campus. As the flames spread, students are evacuated from the building. During the chaos, Rowan traps Amerie and Harper McLean (Asher Yasbincek) inside the school’s AV room while confronting them about the past.

Quinni eventually realizes that her friends are still inside the building and returns to rescue them despite the danger. She manages to save Amerie and Harper before the fire fully engulfs the school. By the end of the episode, Hartley High is left severely damaged, and the students watch as the building burns in the distance.

With the school destroyed, relationships unresolved, and several characters facing emotional fallout, the story now moves toward the final chapter of Heartbreak High. Season 3 will reveal what comes next for the students after one of the most chaotic years in Hartley High’s history.
