Nexus Point News had the honour of sitting down with the In-Character leading star of Big City Greens to discuss the series’ return to Disney Plus for its latest season, comparisons to The Kardashian’s, it’s latest set of high profile celebrity guests, Marvel’s X-Men and who he’d jump at the chance of playing.
Hi Cricket, how are you doing today?
Cricket Green: Oh, I’m doing great, buddy. How are You Buddy?
I’m doing pretty good. I recently bought some new shoes – They’re very snazzy. It is an honor to be blessed by your presence. How’s the (Green) family?
Cricket Green: Wow. They’re doing just fine. I’ll tell them you said “Hi!” I wish Tilly could have made it here. She was uninterested, man. She was like, “No, thank you. I’m just going to stay home!” So I was like, “all right.”
Now Cricket, you’re obviously one of the defining child stars of the generation and with your reality show returning to Disney Plus for a fifth season, What can fans expect and what should audiences brace themselves for this season?
Cricket Green: Oh my gosh. Well, there are tales of plenty. We get into so much crazy stuff, man. In one episode, I get locked in a cage. My dad kind of uses this cage, it’s like a cat carrier but to his credit I do have feral cat like energy but it seriously gets out of hand and like for anything he wants me to do I come running to the crate. He cages me up and then he brings me wherever he wants, he brings me to the doctor’s office to get a shot. That was kind of a crazy day. Then there was a day I accidentally got shot in the leg with a gamma ray and it turned my leg into a super soldier leg and it’s all super buff and swole and I’m hopping around on one leg and kicking stuff. But that was really fun.

Well, I do actually have a question sort of similar to Super Soldier stuff. Because recently, Disney had D23, and they showed off a bunch of cool stuff like Frozen, The Bluey Movie trailer, which I’m sure you’re excited for.
Cricket Green: Yeah, I saw that online from home. I was really hoping I’d get an invite to Disney to D23, but I got nothing, man. I was sitting at home going, “Oh, that looks fun. Wow, I wish I was there.”
You should be a Disney legend by now! We need to induct you into the Hall of Fame.
Cricket Green: Thank you. Thank you. Someone get this guy. He should be in charge!
I’d love that, Perfect! They also announced the cast for Marvel’s X-Men. I was wondering, as a child star, of course, you’re going to want to grow up one day and move onto more dramatic and heightened roles. Would you like to play an X-Man some day or any superhero in general?
Cricket Green: Yeah, yeah, yeah! I would totally consider being an X-Man. Me and Adam Driver, the bad guy, could go at it! I would want to be Wolverine, actually, because he can heal really quickly. And I do get myself into a number of scrapes quite often. And I do not heal quickly, I’ll tell you that so I would love to heal quickly and have metal bones. Those would also come in real handy.
Well, they are looking for a new Wolverine! So I get a Disney job. I’ll get you Wolverine. I think that we can help each other out here.
Cricket Green: Buddy, let’s do it. I love how you think.

On Disney+ as well as your own show, there is another reality show centred around a prominent family. They’re very niche compared to you or course, called The Kardashians. Are you familiar? Are you friends? Or are they straight up competition?
Cricket Green: You know, Kim and I often cross paths, and I kind of just nod my head at her. And she’ll go “Chicken” but that’s about it. I would love to be invited to dinner over there. I think I could loosen them up a little bit. They’re a little, uh, you know… have you seen their house? It looks like a museum. Like it’s all cold and made of stone and stuff. They need a rug in that place. I think I could homey it up a little bit and make it a little nicer. I’d bring over a casserole or something. Take the whole Green family one time and cause a bit of mayhem!
That would send the viewership right up for them, obviously. And speaking of the show, it’s back for season five, and this season has so many guest stars, like Stephen King, obviously one of the greatest horror writers of all time. Don’t know if you’ve read or watched anything related to him? But there’s also Chad Michael Murray, who you recently crossed over with on TikTok, Colby Smulders, Dylan Sprouse. The list goes on! How are they? Who’s your favorite? and Who do you want to bring back?
Cricket Green: Oh my gosh! Yeah, well it is hard to pick a favorite because they’re just delightful and Stephen King, I mean what a legend man. I tried to read just a little bit of Misery and I was just miserable and I couldn’t make it through that thing because I had hurt my legs and I was lying on the couch reading that I just thought of my dad coming in after the cage and pain to my legs and taking care of me. It was just a little too close to home I couldn’t take it.
Bless you! Well, I think you’ve got to wrap now, we are both on tight schedules!
Cricket Green: No, absolutely! They’re (Disney Press) right off screen watching me and opening the cage door.
No, no, it’s okay. I’m looking out for you! We can’t upset the big Disney Mouse, especially if we want to get you the Wolverine role! Thank you so much again for blessing me with your cosmic presence. I hope we get to talk one day again. And good luck with the show. I hope it comes back for season six!
Cricket Green: Thank you so much, man. It was great talking with you. And thanks to everyone for tuning in to Big City Greens Season 5. I appreciate it. We will talk soon!
Big City Greens Season 5 is now streaming on Disney+.
