The story of XO, Kitty is about to continue. The teen romantic drama, set in the same universe as To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, returns for its third season on April 2 on Netflix.
The new season will follow Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) as she heads back to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) for her senior year, determined to make the most of her final months in Korea. With plans to strengthen her friendships, reconnect with her family roots, and finally figure out what her relationship with Min Ho really means, Kitty begins the year with everything mapped out. But, as the series has shown before, life at KISS rarely goes according to plan.
Before the new chapter begins, here’s a look back at the key moments from the first two seasons that shaped Kitty’s journey in Seoul.
Kitty’s Unexpected Start at KISS
When Kitty first arrived in Seoul, she believed she was stepping into the perfect romantic story. After years of long-distance dating, she enrolled at KISS to be closer to her boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi). But the dream quickly fell apart when she discovered he appeared to be dating Yuri (Gia Kim), the school’s popular “it girl.”
As the story unfolded, the situation turned out to be far more complicated. Yuri’s relationship with Dae was actually a cover designed to hide her secret romance with Juliana (Regan Aliyah). That revelation set the tone for the series: nothing at KISS was ever as simple as it first appeared. Meanwhile, Kitty also began questioning her own feelings after realizing her emotions toward Yuri might be more complex than she expected.
The Friends (and Enemies) Who Shaped Kitty’s Journey
During her first months at KISS, Kitty quickly became involved in the complicated dynamics of the people around her. One of her strongest connections was with Q (Anthony Keyvan), whose friendship remained a constant while everything else in her life felt uncertain.
Meanwhile, other students were dealing with struggles of their own. Dae faced financial pressure at home, while Yuri navigated strict family expectations while secretly maintaining her relationship with Juliana. Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) also played a key role in Kitty’s story. Initially introduced as arrogant and sarcastic, he often clashed with her. As the season progressed, however, the series revealed a more sensitive side to him, suggesting deeper family issues behind his confident attitude.
By the end of Season 1, Kitty had broken up with Dae, nearly lost her place at KISS, and become far more emotionally connected to her friends than she expected. The season ended with a major twist: just before Kitty left Korea for the summer, Min Ho admitted he had feelings for her.

Family Secrets and New Connections
Season 2 expanded Kitty’s story beyond romance, focusing more on her family history and her connection to Korea. After Yuri helped overturn her expulsion, Kitty returned to KISS determined to stay and learn more about her late mother’s past. That search led her to uncover new relatives and gain a deeper understanding of her family roots.
At the same time, her relationship with Min Ho continued to develop. Their banter and rivalry remained part of their dynamic, but the growing emotional connection between them became increasingly clear.
The new school year also introduced additional students, including Praveena (Sasha Bhasin), Jin (Joshua Lee), and Stella (Han Bi Ryu). Stella’s storyline eventually exposed a larger conflict involving Min Ho’s family, which ultimately brought Kitty and Min Ho closer together. By the end of the season, Kitty had secured her return to KISS, strengthened her connection to her family heritage, and grown more confident about who she is.
Where Kitty and Min Ho Left Off
One of the central storylines heading into Season 3 is the evolving relationship between Kitty and Min Ho. Over the course of the second season, their dynamic gradually shifted from playful rivalry to something more meaningful.
By the finale, it became clear that their feelings for each other were real. Still, Kitty chose not to rush into a relationship and asked Min Ho to wait before they officially explored what could happen between them. That unresolved moment left their story open-ended. As the series returns, fans are eager to see whether the long-developing connection between the two will finally turn into something more.
