Following a breakout first season starring Connor Storrie and Hudson William, Crave and HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry has begun the casting process for its upcoming second season in Canada. The filming of the second season is expected to begin in August.
The first season premiered on Crave and HBO back in November of 2025 and quickly became one of the platforms highest ranking projects. By January 2026, the show was averaging 8 million views per episode as previously reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Since its debut, the show has gone on to be a cultural phenomenon particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. Several moments from the show has made its way into being referenced in pop culture including the revitalization of “I’ll Believe in Anything” by Wolf Parade, even joking about wanting to “take a trip to the cottage,” a nod to a memorable moment from the series.
Both Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie have emerged as breakout stars of 2025 as a direct result of the show’s success. Storrie has received critical acclaim for his performance and recently went on to host Saturday Night Live. Hudson meanwhile is set to star in another upcoming Crave original series titled Yaga, set to explore the myth of Baba Yaga.
Series creator Jacob Tierney has confirmed that scripts are currently being written for the second season. More details about additional cast members joining Hudson and Storrie are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Season 2 of Heated Rivalry is set to release in Spring 2027.
